Billy Idol’s first album in 11 years, Dream Into It, is set to be released on Friday (April 25). The 9-track concept album delves into Idol’s life, from his punk rock days in England to his struggles with substances and redemption into sobriety. The record features high-profile collaborations with artists like Joan Jett – whom Idol will be hitting the road with this spring on his It’s A Nice Day To…Tour Again! dates – the Kills’ Alison Mosshart, and Avril Lavigne, who is featured on the just released new single, “77.” The album is produced by Tommy English, and prominently features Steve Stevens, Idol’s guitarist and collaborator since 1981, who co-wrote all but one track on Dream Into It. In addition to the album release and subsequent tour, Idol is also preparing to debut the accompanying documentary, Billy Idol Should Be Dead, and he also has his sights set on a potential Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, which would cap off a storied 48-year music career.
